Very rare Perry Davis Christmas “Joy to the World” trade card with E. C. Powers, Danvers, MA imprint.
Perry Davis & Son was a firm based in Providence, Rhode Island. Their major product was “Pain Killer”, a mixture of alcohol, opium, camphor, pepper, myrrh, guaiac, oil of spruce and red saunders. It was claimed to cure everything from frostbite to cholera. Rare medical label printed by the American Bank Note Company circa 1900.
