RI14 RI18 Potato Revenue MH stamps on Tatham TASCO card no. PT2

$75.00

These stamps were required by the Potato Act of 1935, an amendment to the Agricultural Adjustment Act that became effective Dec. 1, 1935. On January 6, 1936, the US Supreme Court declared the Agricultural Adjustment Act unconstitutional. Officially the Potato Act was in effect until Feb. 10, 1936, when it was repealed by Congress. Genuinely used copies are rare.

Tasco booklets were intended to help identify US stamps; some contained genuine stamps and some had facsimiles. They were produced by The Tatham Stamp Company in Springfield, MA.
